POKER
Continued from Day 1c
Day 1d - July 9, 2007
- Day 1d comes to an end.
- Erick Lindgren headed to the locker room early after moving in with K-Q of clubs and being beaten by his opponent's pair of 9s.
- Here's one looking at Kid Poker. With a flop of 4H-3S-JS a player bets $10,000 on the turn, a 9C, and $20,000 at the river, a 6C. The wheels in Daniel Negreanu's head turns and he calls. His pair of 3s trump his opponent's JD-9H, adding to Negreanu's stack.
- It looks like all that glitters isn't Gold. Was the 2006 champ a mere one hit wonder or will he be back with a vengeance next year? With a board of 6S-6D-KD-7D-KH and Q-9 of spades in his pocket, Gold went All-in and succumbed to his opponent's 7C-AH.
- Phil Hellmuth Jr. makes his appearance a little late. The Poker Brat was involved in an accident on the weekend and came clad in a NASCAR racer suit. He exited early from the tournament to boot.
- 2006 World Champion Jamie Gold officially makes his first appearance in the 2007 WSOP Main Event taking a seat at ESPN's feature table.
- "Shuffle up and deal," said Senator Al D'Amato to start Day 1d.
